Today is one of those rare but glorious days where I'm not swamped under stacks of homework, so I thought I'd write up this outfit post from the weekend. 

This outfit is currently one of my favourites. I love the combination of silk and velvet which just screams 'grunge'; an aesthetic which I swear by nowadays. I got this shirt quite a while back but I hadn't worn it a great deal until I recently bought these leggings. I'm so pleased to have finally found something to pair it with! 

Recently I haven't been able to put this lipstick down. I particularly love how it looks when paired with my Topshop cross earrings, which I also wore in this post but unfortunately aren't noticeable. When my dad first saw me wearing it he said, "your lips look horrible." Thanks for the confidence boost, dad! I suppose it's not everybody's cup of tea, as I said in an earlier post. Then again, this is coming from a man who parades around on holiday wearing a bum bag and socks with sandals, thinking it's the height of fashion. (Note to self: never take style advice from dad.)

This coat is yet another one which has been borrowed from my sister. One of the advantages of having one or more siblings is that you can borrow and share their clothes, and vice versa. At least I can rely on my sister for her opinion of an outfit, as opposed to my dad. She says that this coat is getting too small for her so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll eventually pass it on to me. I think it's about time that it had a new owner (hint hint).

Let them eat cake!

My cooking skills may not be up to par with the likes of Jamie Oliver or Delia Smith; but, believe it or not, I love to bake. My favourite foods to cook (and eat) are the sweet kind; ie. cakes, pastries, desserts etc. Although they may not be the best health-wise, they certainly taste the best. Ever since I can remember I have had an incredibly sweet tooth and an affinity for anything sickly-sweet. My entire weekend consisted of baking and doing homework; albeit I wasn't too pleased about the latter.

Topshop Wishlish: Dolly

My style is constantly evolving; and currently I have an adoration for pastels and 1950's inspired aesthetics, as well as my usual 90's grunge influences. While I usually prefer to have more of my own style and don't often follow specific trends, I am delighted that pastels are set to be a massive trend for spring, as displayed impeccably by Meadham Kirchhoff, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Prada and Louis Vuitton. I thought I'd share with you just a few of my favourite picks of the trend from Topshop. My personal favourites are the MOD Black Patent T-Bar Shoes and the Mint Lace Trim Ankle Socks which are available in other gorgeous colours such as baby pink, white and peach. Teen Angst

Discovering Unadoptable was like stumbling across the diary of an angsty teen. Filled with sketches of aliens, skulls, vampires and moody girls with three eyeballs; Kendra's doodles make me want to roll my eyes at society. Now I'm just eagerly waiting for her to start selling t-shirts.

Blue skies and sunshine are an extremely rare occurrence in England, but today we were graced with gorgeous weather! It's strange how the weather can affect your mood. I love how the sunshine brings out the best in everybody, including my cat, as you can see. She was so overjoyed by the weather that she decided to leap, roll and jump incessantly; it's so adorable to watch! 

After seeing plaid skirts from UNIF and American Apparel I had been lusting after one for weeks! I wasn't prepared to pay £50 for one, so I was overjoyed when I found this number in a local vintage shop for just £10. The length is slightly too long so I have had to roll it over a few times for the time-being, however I'll probably get it altered as soon as possible. 

I also wore this outfit on my recent visit to Liverpool, where I went to The Beatles museum and the Tate gallery. I planned on sharing some of my photos with you but I didn't want this post to be too picture-heavy, so I'll probably show them to you in the near future. I thought it would be appropriate to wear my Revolver t-shirt on my visit, and it turns out most other people did too. I had a lovely day, and if you haven't already been to The Beatles museum or Tate gallery I highly recommend you do so. I'm surprised I hadn't been previously because I have always been a massive fan of The Beatles.

This half term has flown by and I go back to school tomorrow, so I'll apologise in advance if I post less frequently.

Today I literally shopped until I dropped. I made the foolish mistake of buying so much that I struggled to carry it all home; although, it was all worth it in the name of fashion. At least I attained my monthly fix of purchasing clothes. I found some fantastic vintage bargains which I plan on featuring many of my upcoming outfit posts. Unfortunately the weather made a turn for the worse and I had no choice but to take these photos indoors when I got home, so please excuse my unruly hair and artificial lighting. 

I'm currently obsessing over these earrings. I had been eyeing them up online for a couple of weeks and finally got round to buying them. Ever since I did they haven't left my earlobes! I also recently bought this lipstick from Rimmel's Kate Moss lipstick collection. While it may not be everybody's cup of tea, I personally think that it exudes a perfect grungy 90s vibe when teamed with my cross earrings. I love the look of layered jewellery; however I think that I still need to build up my jewellery collection in order to pull it off.

Tomorrow I'll be going to Liverpool to visit several art galleries and The Beatles museum. I plan on taking my camera so I'll try to share as many photos with you as I can!

I guarantee that if you listen to this song your life will improve significantly. You will never have to take drugs, binge drink, chain smoke or shop impulsively ever again (not that any of you do anyway!) Just abide by my advice and you'll be on the fast track to happiness. It's such a cheerful, catchy song! Just one word of caution: after listening to it you may find yourself singing it for hours or days on end. No matter how much you like it, this is bound to become irritating or get on the nerves of those who have to endure your incessant singing.

I warned you that this top would appear in a multitude of my future posts, so you shouldn't be too surprised that is has cropped up again. You should also know by now that I'm a sucker for velvet. I just can't get enough of it! I must have bought at least six velveteen garments in less than one month; in fact, I'm wearing one of them right now as I type this (I'll try to do a post on it soon).

I view dressing as a method of expression or embodying different characters and aesthetics. It's not very frequently that you'll see me dressing girly or overly feminine; however today I decided to wear something completely different to my usual preferences. This outfit slightly reminds me of something which Bonnie from Flashes of Style would wear. I love pussy bow blouses, so I decided to act on this adoration by adding more bows to several aspects the outfit. The femininity of it has resulted in me feeling very dainty all day long, which is a necessity for every girl to experience every once in a while. 

I broke up from school for half term yesterday, so expect to see an abundance of posts throughout the next week. The vast majority of my friends will be going on my school's ski trip on Sunday, and, although I'll miss them immensely, my family and I have made plenty of arrangements together for the upcoming week. I plan on spending tonight watching films with my sister whilst pigging out on chocolate and popcorn. Bliss!

At last the snow has arrived! Isn't it pretty? I love it at this time of year when the snow makes me revert back to being about five years old. I spent the entire day sledging and now I feel as if I could sleep for an eternity. 

These leggings are my most recent purchase, and, although I probably overuse the word 'love' when it comes to clothes, I think I well and truly am in love. Although they may not be everybody's cup of tea, they have the most amazing, eye-catching print. I couldn't resist myself from picking them up! I'm pretty sure I've worn this top non-stop for the past few weeks; it's just so perfect! I apologise if you're getting fed up of seeing it crop up incessantly in my outfit posts, however I suppose you will have to get used to it. As well as my ongoing adoration for 80's and 90's grunge, I'm also acquiring a love for 1970's Americana. I plan on basing plenty of outfits around this aesthetic, so prepare yourselves! 

Yesterday I saw Chronicle at the cinema to celebrate the birthday of one of my best friends. If you haven't already seen it, I strongly  urge you to do so! The plot was extremely gripping and exciting, yet containing an aspect of surreality and creepiness. There currently seems to be an infinite list of films which I wish to see. If you have any good additions to my list, I'd be more than happy to check them out.
